How we work, step by step
In a business every closed day costs money, so painting is planned in detail:
- Visit and schedule. We inspect the premises, the surfaces and your opening hours, and agree when to work: nights, weekends or a planned closure.
- Specifying finishes and colours. If you have brand guidelines, we work with the exact colour codes (for example RAL or Pantone) and recommend the most suitable paint.
- Protection. We cover counters, shelving, equipment and floors, and mark off work areas.
- Preparation. Repairing damage, filling, sanding and treating damp; special preparation on metal, wood or already-enamelled surfaces.
- Application. Primer and two coats, using spray equipment where the surface allows to speed things up.
- Cleaning and reopening. We leave the premises clean and ready to open at the agreed time.
Timescales depend on the surface area and the hours we can use, which is why we prepare a schedule before starting.
Regulations, materials and good practice
In premises open to the public, paint also has technical implications:
- Reaction to fire: in premises open to large numbers of people, the Spanish Technical Building Code (DB-SI) sets reaction-to-fire classes for certain finishes. If your premises require it, we use compliant paints.
- Hygiene in catering and food: in food-handling areas, washable, smooth, non-porous surfaces with paints resistant to frequent cleaning are recommended.
- Wash resistance: in high-traffic areas, a paint with high wet-abrasion resistance is advisable so it does not deteriorate when cleaned.
- Signage and façade: the colour and façade elements of premises may be subject to municipal by-laws and to the owners' community.
We use water-based enamels for wood and metal, washable emulsion for walls and specific enamels for difficult or heavily used surfaces such as doors, railings and counters.
What affects the price of your project
The cost of painting commercial premises depends on these factors:
- Area and height: square metres of walls and ceilings, and whether scaffolding or platforms are needed.
- Condition of surfaces: damage, damp, old paint or special substrates.
- Type of paint: washable, anti-mould, fire-retardant or specific to catering or industry.
- Corporate colours: matching brand tones and specific finishes.
- Working hours: nights or weekends so the business does not have to close.
- Delivery deadline: openings with a fixed date may need more staff.
- Items to protect or remove: furniture, shelving, equipment and signage.
Every job is different, so we do not give fixed prices without seeing it. Request your personalised quote: it is free and with no obligation. Call us on +34 614 75 20 96 or message us on WhatsApp and we will itemise it in writing.
Local challenges on the Costa del Sol and the Axarquía
Painting commercial premises on the Costa del Sol and in the Axarquía has its own particularities:
- Tourist season. Many coastal businesses use the winter closure or the lulls between seasons. Booking a date early avoids a rush before Easter and summer.
- Salt air. On façades, railings and metal frames near the sea, paint suffers more. We prepare the metal and use anti-corrosion enamels.
- Ground-floor premises. Rising damp in low walls is common. If it appears, it must be treated before painting; see our waterproofing page.
- Heat and ventilation. In summer we ventilate the premises and work in cooler hours; with doors open to the public, we protect the surroundings well.
- Terraces and façades. Terraces and exterior catering elements are subject to municipal by-laws, and façade colours in historic centres may be regulated.
We work in Vélez-Málaga, Marbella, Málaga city and across the province. If you also need building work, see commercial renovations.
Questions about commercial painting
Can you work at night or at weekends?
Yes, we adapt the schedule to your business so as not to interrupt your trading.
Do you paint premises with brand guidelines?
Yes, we work with the exact colour codes the brand provides.
How long does it take to paint commercial premises?
It depends on the area, the height and the hours available. Many premises are painted over a weekend or in a few days; we set it out in a schedule before starting.
What paint is suitable for a bar or restaurant?
Washable paint with wet-abrasion resistance and, in the kitchen and food-handling areas, smooth surfaces that are easy to clean. If the premises require it, paint with appropriate fire behaviour as well.
